Campus Belloch

We are pleased to confirm that the 2026 BioHackathon will be held at Campus Belloch, which is approximately 30 minutes from Barcelona. Set within a 200-hectare estate, the venue is surrounded by greenery and includes a private park, providing a calm environment well suited to both focused collaboration and relaxation.

Surrounded by forests and forest nurseries, and framed by mountains and sea, environmental preservation is a core principle of the Campus. Its minimalist architecture has been designed to work in harmony with the natural surroundings, with sustainability as a key priority.

We look forward to welcoming participants to Campus Belloch for a week of productive work, networking and informal social activities.

Amenities and activities

Campus Belloch offers a range of indoor and outdoor facilities.

  • Outdoor activities include tennis, football, basketball, mountain biking and paddle.
  • Indoor facilities include a gym, karaoke, table football, billiards, darts and board games.

Participants will be accommodated in single rooms. All prices include VAT.

Accommodation costs must be paid before the event. Participants will be asked to pay the venue directly by credit card. Campus Belloch will send a payment link and instructions by email.

ELIXIR will cover the costs of catering, meeting room hire and any social activities during the event.

Booking process

Once you have successfully registered for the face-to-face event, your accommodation will be automatically booked at the venue.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations are permitted up to one month before the event (by 9 October), by contacting biohackathon-europe@elixir-europe.org. Please note that cancellations after this date, or failure to attend the event, will result in full payment being required, even if you are a funded attendee.

By plane

The venue is approximately a 45-minute drive from Barcelona–El Prat Airport.

By car

Campus Belloch is approximately 60 minutes by car from central Barcelona.

By train

  • From Barcelona-Sants train station, take a train to Cardedeu train station (approximately 45 minutes).
  • From Barcelona–El Prat Airport, take the train from the “Aeroport” stop (Terminal 2) to Cardedeu.
  • Please check local train times and services on the Catalonian Government website.

From Cardedeu train station to Campus Belloch:

  • Walking: approximately 40 minutes
  • Taxi: approximately 10 minutes (Cabify, Free Now or NTaxi)
  • Bus: approximately 25 minutes (including a short walk to and from the bus stop)

From Granollers Centre train station: approximately 15 minutes by taxi to the venue.
